The thermal resort of Hévíz is located in a nature reserve and is named after a unique peat lake. Treatment here is available all year round thanks to three warm springs that maintain a water temperature of at least 26 °C. Experts point out the special flora of the silt, which helps to purify the water from harmful bacteria.

The Hungarian Health Institute cites data on the composition of the lake's water, confirming the presence of healing components including methacremnium acid, fluorite, sodium chloride, ammonium, bromide and potassium, among others. The experts are confident that there are no other places in Europe with similar healing powers.

Treatment at Lake Hévíz in Hungary has indications for many diseases. Thanks to its mildly radioactive thermal waters, it promotes rehabilitation after injuries, improves the musculoskeletal system and helps to overcome gynaecological problems.

Internal application of these waters is recommended for chronic gastrointestinal diseases, and gargling has an effective effect in the acute stage of periodontal disease.
